“The aim of the Weymouth & Portland Partnership is to improve the quality of life of all who live and work in Weymouth and Portland”
Weymouth & Portland Partnership Statement of Intent 2001
Welcome – About Us
The Weymouth and Portland Partnership was formed in 2001 from a range of organisations and community groups within Weymouth and Portland to provide the development and improvement of community life with strategic direction and management. Considerable progress has been made since its inception and the Partnership now involves over 90 organisations including: Dorset Primary Care Trust, Weymouth College, Weymouth and Portland Housing, Dorset Police and Weymouth & Portland Borough Council.
The Weymouth and Portland Partnership is a non profit making organisation governed by a Board with representatives from the key partner organisations and an independent Chairman, Duncan Fergusson. The Partnership has established eight theme groups which meet regularly to consider issues of importance for the Borough and to identify ways of working together to meet those needs. These eight theme groups are:
Climate Change Challenge
Economy
The Built and Natural Environment
Health and Wellbeing
Housing
Safer, Stronger Communities
Learning, Culture and Arts
Accessibility
The Partnership works closely with the Dorset Strategic Partnership to ensure that issues identified in the Borough are reflected in Dorset wide planning and strategies.
This website serves to provide general information about the Partnership and its work, and contact details for further information. We hope you find it useful and we welcome any feedback or suggestions that you may have.
